Starting your own bouncy castle and inflatable business in ireland2017-08-03T17:58:07+00:00

So you’re thinking of starting your own inflatable hire business?

Over the years we have helped hundreds of people to start up their own inflatable hire business.

The first question we get asked is “Can I make money out of this?” and the answer is yes, you can make plenty of money from your own inflatable hire business, but we immediately advise people that “it’s not money for nothing” because you have to work hard to make it a success.

What’s first?

I suppose the first thing you need are good attractive inflatables that will stand the test of time. Secondly you need some means to transport the units to the hire venue, and a small but sturdy sack truck or trolley and some good electrical leads.

That’s it, you’re set up. So what comes next?

Advertising:

As regards running your business and making it a success, this requires some more effort. Advertising is very important – I always think you should start at your front door and work out from there putting an ad in your local paper and pasting flyers in your local shop window and anywhere else you can think of.

Social Media:

You should always utilise the various social media platforms, like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to help get your business out there.

After that it is word of mouth – which depends on you supplying good popular inflatables combined with a good service – if you do this people will tend to use you again and recommend you to their friends and neighbours. My idea is once you supply a customer you should impress them enough so that they always come back to you, and you become their bouncing castle man or woman.

Part of doing this is to be friendly, cheerful and helpful about your service, always being there on time and allowing the customer to cancel if there is very bad weather on that day.

Always place the castle/inflatable where the customer wants it in the garden (if safe) and come back to collect it at a time that suits the customer.

Another F.A.Q. is how many inflatables do I need to start a business?

Well I suppose the answer is as many as you want, but we always recommend 2 minimum. Depending on how confident you are about your market and how much you want to get in to this, you can invest as much as you want.

Buying the right inflatable products is one of the most important decisions you will make for starting your own hire business.

All new Bounce Ireland inflatables are EU Manufactures and strictly adhere to EN-14960: 2013 safety standards. As a hirer, this is very important for the safety of your customers and to comply with the conditions of your public liability PLC insurance.

The Irish National Consumers Agency has stated: “To be considered safe, bouncing castles should be manufactured according to the European standard I.S. EN 14960; 2013”. At Bounce Ireland all of our inflatable products strictly adhere to this standard.

We have been repairing and manufacturing inflatables for over 30 years now, and it’s our experience in repairing that we apply to our manufacturing that makes our castles the very best with regard to durability – and this is so important when starting off.

We meet new people in the trade every week who have bought cheap low standard castles that are simply not fit for the job. It’s only through experience that new hirers discover this mistake and find it very hard to sell on the products in order to buy proper stock; it can be a fatal mistake and often turns people off for good.

Bounce Ireland:

Any prospective buyer is welcome to come to our workshop and view the extensive range of inflatables we have on offer, and we can demonstrate our superior products.

Our mission in manufacturing is to make inflatables last as long as possible so that you can get the best value from the product.

We have been hiring bouncy castles for over 30 years and hope we have gained enough experience to answer almost all your questions regarding the inflatable hire business.

Disadvantages of being in the inflatable hire business:

  • You have to work when other people are socialising, i.e. Saturday Sunday morning and evening.
  • You have to be physically fit enough to lift and roll up a bouncing castle.
  • You sometimes have to roll up castles in the rain.

Advantages of being in the inflatable hire business:

  • You can earn plenty of much needed cash.
  • You bring joy and happiness to children.
  • You get to meet lots of varied and interesting people.
  • You get serious job satisfaction.
